I learnt a range of different subjects that were essential to progress and enter the world of work, in 2020 i receved my GCSE results which were grade 4 in Mathematics, grade 3 in English Language and Literature, grade 3 in Geography, grade 3 in Religious Studies, grades 43 in Combined Science, D1 (level 1 distinction) in Crative Imedia.

unit 1 - the online world
This unit is about Investigating online services and online Communication and to investigate components of the internet and how digital devices exchange and store information it also covers online tools like cloud storage, search engine work along with online safety, privacy, and responsible digital behaviour.
what ive learned
From this unit I have learned about netiquette, what security threats that are on the web, online services and different data exchange methods there are.
Unit 2 - Technology Systems
This unit is about exploring the common hardware components of technology systems, such as a touch screen or a printer, and the internal building blocks of a computer like the processor, buses and memory. The unit also covers the purpose of networks, which allow different devices within a technology system to communicate.
what ive learned
From this unit I have learned more about input and output devices, how hardware performances are measured, Properties and Characteristics of Storage Devices, what volatile and non-volatile memory is, types of servers and how storage capacity is measured.
Unit 3 - Digital Portfolio
This unit is about creating a digital portfolio to showcase your skills and achievements. You’ll learn how to design web pages, and present your work clearly for a specific audience. The portfolio brings together what you’ve learned across the course and helps demonstrate your creativity, communication, and potential.
what ive learned
From this unit I have learned how to create a digital portfolio to professionally showcase my skills and achievements. I developed web design skills, learned to organize content for a clear purpose and audience, and presented my work in a clear and engaging way. This unit also helped me reflect on and bring together work from other units.
Unit 10 - Database Development
this unit is about investigating database systems used by organisations and they will design and develop their own database systems to meet user requirements based on the client requirements, This unit also allows us to create reports, forms.
what ive learned
From this unit I have learned a database works, the difference between computerised and paper based databases, pros and cons of a database, the difference between flat and relational databases along with there pros and cons, and how to create my own database.
Unit 11 - Computer networks
This unit introduces you to computer networks and how they allow devices to connect and share information. learn what networks are and the different types networks it also covers how they work and how data is transferred.
what ive learned
From this unit I have learned features of a network, uses of computer networks, the different types of networks available, different topologies for a network and the scales of networks.
Unit 12 - Software Development
This unit about learning the basics of a programming language and how to write code to solve problems is also coves exploring what makes a good program and how to test and fix your own software. This unit allows us to create our own program using python and gives the opportunity to use visual studio code.
what ive learned
From this unit I have learned how to code using python, create programs with python using visual studio code, how to review a program, different construct Techniques to use when creating my program and how to design a flowchart for my program.
Unit 13 - Website Development
This unit introduces you to how websites are planned, built, and maintained. This unit about learning how websites work and how their different parts come together and we will design, develop, and test your own website based on the client requirements it also teaches us how to code with HTML and CSS.
what ive learned
From this unit I have learned how to code with HTML and CSS, how to make my own website, what usability and accessibility a website contains, how to test a website, different types of websites, and how to improve the user experience on my website.
Unit 20 - building a pc
This unit teaches you how to plan, build and test a personal computer. It helps you understand how computers work and explore how PCs are used, what components they need and how much they cost along with how those parts affect the systems performance it also gives the opportunity to dismantle and build a PC and helps identify what safety equipment is needed to prevent harm to us and any damages to the PC’s hardware.
what ive learned
From this unit I have learned how to build a PC, what safety equipment is needed, design a PC with hardware that meet the specifications of a software, how a GPU and CPU works, dismantle and rebuild a PC, how to benchmark hardware components, identify the specifications for a specific software to run and what specs a piece of hardware has, how to build a budget PC, how the internals of a PC work, what south and Northridge is, how hardware transfer speeds are measured, and the difference between a HDD and SSD.
